Sumimasen!!

So I've come to the realization that I am one of the worst bloggers EVER! I have been back in the U.S. for a couple months now and just remembered my blog. I'm so sorry to all of my readers. As mentioned in my travel blog (see links in bottom right), I enjoyed my time in Japan and will find time to upload some stories and pictures from my semester in Japan.

As for reviews, I am going to start doing them again! I won't set something solid, but I would like to try to do a new one every other week or so. I don't know how much time I'll have to do that and watch things, but I'll do my best to try! I guess it's a good thing I've seen a bit and have only reviewed one so far!

Once again I'm sorry, and hopefully I'll get a review up here soon!

Orthros no Inu

Hello Readers! This will be my first review!! XD

Orthros no Inu 10/10
Synopsis: (copied from D-Addicts Wiki, who got it from TBS) Ryuzaki Shinji who possesses a “God Hand”, the power to heal wounds and illnesses just by touching the patient, is in fact a dark introvert who does not reveal his true self to others. Aoi Ryosuke who possesses the “Demon’s Hand”, the power to kill a person just by touching him, is as kind and pure as an angel. When the demon meets the God, a fatal battle begins. Detective Hasebe Nagisa gets caught by the criminals during a deep cover operation. Ryosuke, a man she does not even know comes to save her and she witnesses his “Demon’s Hand” in action. Thereafter she discovers by coincidence the existence of Shinji’s “God Hand” and brings the two together. Little did she know that this would cause great disorder to the world and even to her own life.

Plot: When I first read the synopsis for Orthros no Inu months ago, I was very intrigued. I have read the greek myth of Orthros before. The story Orthros no Inu was very captivating. I found myself wanting to watch more at the end of every episode. Luckily I waited long enough so I could watch a few at a time. Throughout the series I was making predictions and trying to figure out what was going on, and I was wrong almost every single time. Especially the ending. I was expecting something that I did not want to happen, and then I was confused because what I expected didn't happen. 10/10

Acting: Orthros no Inu stars Takizawa Hideaki (Tackey) as Ryuzaki Shinji and Nishikido Ryo as Aoi Ryosuke. This was the first time I've seen Tackey act, and he was really good. I am a fan of Ryo from previous dramas. I thought the acting from them, as well as most of the supporting characters, was really good. There were a few times where something was off, but it was from characters with smaller roles. I also want to mention Sasaki Kuranosuke. He is one of my favorite actors in the world (yes, not just in Japan or Asia, but the entire world!). It was interesting to see him in more of a villian role, but it just gave me more proof of how good he is. 9/10

Cinematography/Lighting: The cinemetography for Orthros no Inu was just stunning. I wouldn't change any of the shots or lighting. It is pretty much perfect when it comes to good lighting and cinematography. 10/10

Music: The opening/theme song is Hikari Hitotsu by Takizawa Hideaki. As like most dramas, if there's a Johnny Boy as one of the stars, there is a Johnny song as the opening, ending, theme, or all three! Just as a side note, Orthros no Inu had three Johnny's Idols (Takizawa Hideaki from Tackey & Tsubasa, Nishikido Ryo from NEWS and Kanjani8, and Yaotome Hikaru (as Kumakiri Masaru) from Ya-Ya-yah and Hey!Say! JUMP. I enjoyed Tackey's song, but then again I haven't come across a song from a Johnny's idol/band that I haven't liked. XD The instrumental music was excellent (composed by Izutsu Akio)! 10/10
